CARTIER COUSSIN

Thanks to its unusual organic shape, the Coussin is undoubtedly the most original watch in the otherwise very classic 1973 Louis Cartier collection. Although its name means "pillow" in French, Coussin's brancards evoke the natural form of bamboo stalks, in a style reminiscent of the ever-popular chinoiserie furniture produced by Maison Charles, Jansen or Baguès throughout the 1970s.
Produced in limited quantity and long forgotten, Cartier paid an unexpected tribute to this watch in 1995 by creating a Coussin-shaped belt buckle. Ironically, this gold-plated belt buckle is now even rarer than the watch that inspired it. Who is collecting belt buckles after all.
